I participated in a dance marathon to raise money for Children’s Memorial Hospital.
This is a wonderful children’s hospital - one of the best!  They treat the whole child - physically, mentally and emotionally.  They help kids from all over our country as well as many other countries, and they don’t turn down families who can’t pay.
They also do research to help with illnesses that aren’t treatable at the moment.
At the marathon, many kids were there - some were recovered - from cancers, infections and many other illnesses, but some were still very sick.  One 6 year-old girl was responding to an experimental cancer treatment, although she was going through her 10th session of chemo.  And one 4 year-old boy was still looking for a treatment - he has an incurable cancer and his doctors are trying experimental drugs and the like.  Specialized pediatric cardiac surgeons do operations on the 1-inch long hearts of newborns every day.
It’s very sad and yet hopeful - I’ve never seen a hospital that infuses such play and hope and love as this hospital.
Please, if you have any money at all that you can donate, please visit
http://www.kidsmiracles.org/strawbean
and donate something.  The kids need this support - and the money for many of these specialized programs come from donors and such marathons.
There’s more information at the website.
Thanks very much, and best wishes!
